What is SunRun?
SunRun offers the nation's first residential power purchase agreement (PPA). A PPA is a great way for you to pay for your new Akeena Solar system: SunRun pays for and owns your home solar system and then sells you the electricity at a reduced, locked-in guaranteed rate for an 18-year period. It’s similar to how you currently purchase electricity: you pay for it as you use it. But with SunRun, your electricity is clean, and you will have a low fixed rate that will never go up.
How SunRun Works
SunRun is committed to keeping your Akeena Solar system working at top performance for decades. If you get your Akeena Solar through SunRun, this is what you can expect:
- Akeena Solar designs and installs your home solar system.
- SunRun purchases the Akeena system on your behalf, and sells you the power at a fixed low rate for 18 years.
- SunRun monitors, maintains, repairs and insures your panels for 18 years. No time or out of pocket expense required from you.
- Flexibility on the initial payment: SunRun lets you decide whether to pay more or less upfront.
- Complete system insurance: SunRun insures every system, including damage and theft. Money-back performance guarantee with 18 year extended system warranty.
- With SunRun, you’ll increase your home value even if you decide to move before your 18-year agreement is up. You can transfer your SunRun agreement to the home buyer, pay out the agreement, or purchase your system from SunRun. All three options will add value to the price of your home.
SunRun Service Plan Options:
SunRun offers two full-service solar options to Akeena Solar customers. Full System Management is included with both plans, so the choice is yours to get affordable, clean solar energy today:
- SunRun Total Solar, you pay upfront for 18 years of affordable solar electricity and eliminate your monthly electricity bill — the cost is less than purchasing. This option is ideal if a customer has money or home equity to put towards solar today. SunRun Total Solar is the best financial deal they can get.
- SunRun Power Plan, you enjoy the savings and benefits of home solar without paying a large amount upfront. Start-up costs typically run between $3,000 and $8,000 depending on your electricity usage, and you’ll lock in a low rate for solar electricity from SunRun that will never go up. This option is ideal for customers who have other financial priorities and would prefer to pay over time for solar.
